Moms with toddlers. Looking for things to do with kids in Davie? Try mommy and me Music Together classes at Little Java.

If you have infants or toddlers at home in Davie finding things to do with kids might be a bit of a challenge given the kids' ages. Kid's 6 months to 3 years are obviously still developing learning something new every day. Their role models, the people that they learn from, include parents, nannies and grandparents.

There's a lot of talk about the importance of "quality time" with toddlers given our modern day reality of two parents working. One way to get that quality, bonding time and help your child's development is the "mommy and me" programs that have spread across the country. These programs (usually held weekly) are designed to encourage bonding but also encourage the child's physical and social development.

Music Together – Fun for Toddlers and Moms Both

For Davie moms there is an amazing, fun mommy and me program held in nearby Weston at the Little Java indoor playground. Little Java has teamed with Music Together to provide classes based on family music experiences that encourage your child's appreciation for music and gets them involved in dancing, singing and playing musical instruments.

Don't expect your kid to become an instant Baryshnikov or Bruce Springsteen but do expect him or her to be amazed by the experience and to start imitating the adults. Classes consist of fun songs, simple kid-like group dances and of course a lot of percussion instruments.

Classes are held once a week and usually last about an hour.

The kids love it and the moms (or grandmas or dads or care givers) also get a kick out of it and it's a perfect opportunity to network with others who have kids of roughly the same age. You make friends, get reviews on pediatricians, the best buy on kids' clothes or just shoot the breeze.

The classes are held in a private room so the playground area doesn't present a distraction. After class however, kids often want to spend some time bouncing on the inflatables, working the wall mounted puzzles or frolicking in the ball pit. Parents can go to the Little Java Café and socialize over a cup of coffee or tea.

Demo classes are offered to let you "try out" the program and see if it is right for you and your kid. The age limitations for Music together are 6 months to 3 years. Give us a call for details and the date of the next demo class.
