Things to do with Kids in Broward. You Have Options

School is back in session but that still leaves the weekend open and the question of what to do with kids in Broward County. Fortunately Broward County has a pretty extensive public park system with 19 regional parks and nature centers, six neighborhood parks, and 21 natural areas offering a variety of recreational activities.

For example your kids (or you) can play disc golf at Easterlin Park, Plantation Park and Tradewinds Park. If you don't have discs you can buy them there for a small fee. Nature trails abound and are a great way to get the kids in touch with their environment. Older kids can play basketball at parks in Cooper City, Pembroke Pines and Lauderdale. For an evening out with the kids try a Saturday at dusk at the Fox Observatory at Markham Park.

Of course enjoying the park system depends on the weather. If it's pouring down rain or lightening your family fun will be placed on hold. There's also the question of finding a park that satisfies all ages of kids so everybody gets to have fun.

We have a suggestion that takes care of the weather issue and provides something for everybody (including you).

Little Java Indoor Playground in Weston

Little Java is a huge indoor playground and activities area that has something for every kid from toddler to teen. Your little ones will have a blast bouncing and sliding on our fantastic inflatables while older kids can test their skills on the rope trail and rock climbing wall. All ages get a great, healthy workout while honing balance and agility skills.

And then there is the Arcade. Little Java has an updated version of an old fashioned carnival arcade that you enjoyed as a kid. Kids can earn points for their scores and then trade those points in for awesome prizes when the day is over. Games include classics like dunk the clown, milk jug toss and rubber ducky races.

For you there is a Café where you can relax with a cup of your favorite java and watch the kids run off all that pent up energy they have. Better they do it here than in the living room right?

If you live in Weston, Plantation or Sunrise Little Java is a best bet for giving your kids "something to do" that they will all thoroughly enjoy. Just remember that everybody has to wear socks. No bare feet or shoes allowed in the play areas. Enjoy!
